The picture below shows the exterior of Casa Chloé. On the ground floor is a service station for all Solemar Sicilia holiday apartments in Santa Flavia. The first floor is devoted to the apartment we call Verde. It is the ideal apartment for those who like a modern decor and are price-conscious. You can even control the lights inside the apartment with your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.

The holiday apartment on the second floor we call Azzurro. It has a large rooftop terrace which is partly covered and equipped with a small kitchenette and even a small bathroom. It's very modern, and you can also control the interior lights with your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.

At the Azzurro holiday apartment you can sit in the open air under the sky - even in the rain. The sitting area offers a wonderful view of the sea, as well as of Monte Catalfano and the Solunto archaeological site.

The roof can be adjusted to match the weather using a slat construction (picture right). With light and airy curtains you can also give yourself some privacy. An excellent large gas barbecue grill is safe and easy to use, while the wi-fi network lets you stay connected to the world. But you can turn that off, if you like.

The same goes for the lights - switch them off to enjoy the stars over Santa Flavia. And finally, saving the best for last: under the fixed roof there is a small kitchen (refrigerator, 2-burner stove and sink) along with bathroom and shower. If your refrigerator is stocked, you can stay on top of the roof terrace all day and never leave the house.

Even though Casa Chloé is located in the historic town center in Santa Flavia does not mean its apartments are just as old. On the contrary - the house was completely renovated in 2016.

Gas, water, and electrical systems meet today's highest standards. In winter, the gas-fired heating provides provides an even warmth while in summer the air conditioning will keep you cool. So you see holidays in Sicily happen year-round!

Both apartments have internet connections by satellite or DSL. There's a washing machine, a four-burner stove, and more. The beds are even protected by mosquito nets to provide the best night's sleep.

The uniquely modern and colorful look of the apartments was created by interior designer Chloé Pierron and implemented by local craftsmen.

Casa Chloé has a reliable high-speed internet connection. The usual problems with poor signal or low bandwidth are not a concern.

Each apartment - Azzurro and Verde - has its own dedicated router. And with each router comes its own WLAN-network (Wi-fi) for you to use during your stay.

Casa Chloé has satellite TV with almost all the normal, free Astra- and Hotbird-channels. And each apartment has a separate satellite TV.

It's true - holidays in Sicily will feel "authentic" in the best sense of the word. Especially at Casa Chloé.

You won't really need the internet or newspapers if you want the latest news. The most important information travels from balcony to balcony here in real time. You will also see people using the balconies as kitchens, as clothes-dryers, even as homes for pets.

The scenery here is not designed for tourists, so it's authentic. You likely won't even see tourists here - outside of Casa Chloé. The location and surroundings of Casa Chloé are perfect for people who want to fall in love with the real Sicily during their holidays here, immersing themselves in the life of a small Sicilian town.

For those who love sweet, natural honey, temptation awaits just 10m from Casa Chloé. There beekeeper Giuseppe Zerilli has honey ready for sale in his small shop.

This land of milk and honey also has all varieties of "potions of the gods". Standard types in Sicily include thistle honey (miele di sardo), sweet clover honey (miele di sulla), and rosemary honey (miele di rosmarino).

But don't confuse the Italian word for honey with the kitchen appliance maker. The word "miele" is a very old word that comes from the Greek word: "méli" (μέλι).

Giuseppe Zerilli, by the way, is not only a beekeeper but a carpenter. And next to his honey shop is his workshop where he constructs beehives for beekeepers across Italy.

Casa Chloé in Santa Flavia is perfect for self-organized excursions. "Right around the corner" you'll find mountains, the sea, and ancient history. You can reach it all:

You will find that for all types of trips, Casa Chloé makes the perfect jumping-off point: Many sights are within walking distance, while a bicycle shop is close by and a train station just 100m away. A car rental is only 10min away down the highway. And one of your goals for several excursions will be the Sicilian capital, Palermo:

Casa Chloé is great for convenience and for being "close to civilization". But even for those who like a more urban environment, the apartments are perfect. The reason is Trenitalia. The proximity to the train means that during your holidays in Sicily, you can reach Palermo in just thirty minutes – and that includes the walking time from Casa Chloé to the station.

Palermo is one of the most underrated cities in Europe, despite drawing more and more visitors every year enjoying their holidays in Sicily. Part of the reason is why it is more and more popular is that it's one of the safest cities in Europe.
